    Sakura Medal started in 2006.

    Around 15,000 children in about 20 schools.

Magazines available at YIS library

ASK : Arts and sciences for the kids is a nonfiction magazine for children 6-9 years old who are curious about science and the world they live in. Each edition of ASK is built around a central theme on some question or concept in the natural, physical, or social sciences, technology, mathematics, history, or the arts.

Boys' Life is the monthly magazine of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).

Faces  takes readers where no other publication goes. Around the world and back, young readers get an honest and unbiased view of how people in other countries and world regions live. From the clothes they wear to the foods they eat, readers get a glimpse into the way their peers live. Each issue takes readers to a different country or region, or explores a topic of global importance. Be a citizen of the world. Be a Faces reader. 52 pp.

Owl is a popular Canadian children’s magazine founded in 1976. Aimed at those between the ages of 9 and 13, it is published 10 times per year.

Zoobooks Kids For ages 6 to 12 Zoobooks Magazine focuses on a new amazing animal. Fun to read, Zoobooks inspire children to learn and love nature with:
